So far I'm very impressed!
Freezer was well packaged and arrived with no shipping damage. It looks great. It was easy to move it into place and install it. After letting it settle for 6 hours I plugged it in.
This freezer happened to arrive on a day when my region saw record high temperatures. I was installing the freezer in a garage-type space with very little temperature protection. The room was 90°F when I nervously plugged the freezer in. The amazing thing? It was keeping ice frozen solid only 6 hours after plugging it in! That's a good freezer. One day later-- more record high temps-- the room temp is 90°F again and everything is keeping just fine, including ice cream!
I'm also impressed by how quiet this freezer is. I was expecting it to be much louder and I'm very happy it's not.
I am curious to see how well it holds up during the cold months, when the room will occasionally drop to 20-30°F. As others have pointed out, the printed manual conflicts with the information in this listing and says the freezer cannot handle these temperatures. Danby says the printed manual is simple for another model, and the freezer is in fact garage ready. So far it passed the hot weather test! If it doesn't pass the cold weather test this winter, I'll update my review.
If you're looking for an affordable garage-ready chest freezer I doubt you could do any better than this.
