I got this freezer to use with a solar power station during power outages. We lost all of our food three times last year because of bad storms. I tested this freezer with a 50 amp hour 700 watt power station and it works perfectly to keep my food frozen. To extend the run time you can put a timer in the circuit to only run the freezer every four hours for 30 minutes but this depends on the temperature in your location. If you have a way to recharge with solar this won`t be an issue. This freezer has more storage space than I thought and is perfect for my needs.
